Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) has appointed German producer Martin Moszkowicz as its president.
Moszkowicz will start in the role from July 1, 2026. He will replace departing president Doris Fiala, who is stepping down after one year in the role.
The festival has also added two new board members: Swiss filmmaker Sabine Boss and Claudia Lasser, CEO of Swiss media firm Entertainment Programm.
Moszkowicz previously worked at German production company Constantin Film for over 30 years, including as its chairman for 10 years from 2014. He had credits as producer, executive producer and co-producer on over 300 film and television productions across that time.
Moszkowicz has also been head of the production and media business programme at the University of Television and Film Munich since 2019.
“Over recent years, the Zurich Film Festival has established itself as a permanent fixture on the European festival calendar,” said Moszkowicz. “With its clear commitment to high-quality cinema and its close connection to the international awards season, it has the potential to grow into a globally recognised brand in the years ahead. One of its flagship initiatives is the Zurich Summit, which has established itself as a leading platform for the global film business – a kind of ’Davos for the film industry’ – and offers significant potential for further growth. I look forward to working with Christian Jungen, the team and the board of directors to help shape this journey and contribute my international network.”
“Martin Moszkowicz is the ideal President for us because he comes from the creative side of the industry, knows the festival extremely well, and, thanks to his extensive network in Munich and Los Angeles, will help us further strengthen our presence and relationships in our two most important international markets, Germany and the United States,” said ZFF CEO Jungen.
Moszkowicz, Boss and Lasser join Thomas Hugi and Felix E. Muller on the ZFF board. The 22nd ZFF will take place from September 24 to October 4 this year.
