‘Leopard Spots’

Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event has selected 16 films in production or post-production for its works in progress lab, divided across International, Baltic Event and Just Film sections.

In the international section is Leopard Spots from Josh Trigg, which sees a mother’s fear of abandonment threaten her relationship with her daughter in a rural Japanese factory town. Trigg’s first feature was UK-Laos production Satu – Year Of The Rabbit, which premiered at Raindance in 2024.

Lithuanian filmmaker Ernestas Jankauskas’ The Queen Of England Stole My Parents is in the Just Film section for children and youth-focused films. The project about an adopted girl on a journey to save her biological parents was a prizewinner at last year’s Industry@Tallinn & Baltic event. Jankauskas’ first feature, Sasha Was Here, premiered at Black Nights.

The winning projects in the Baltic and international sections will receive €7,000 in in-kind services. The Just Film winner will receive a €1000 to cover promotion and publicity.

All the projects will be screened during the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event industry platform on November 19. Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival runs November 6-22.
